Chef Casey Lane of The Tasting Kitchen puts a modern spin on traditional British fare

Just as our Olympians bring American lifestyle to the cobblestone streets of London, the U.K.’s culinary flair emerges along Gallery Row in Los Angeles.

Introducing The Parish, a new British gastropub-inspired restaurant, which has made headlines as one of the most anticipated restaurant openings this summer. Three-time James Beard Award nominee and executive chef Casey Lane gained chef stardom working at LA’s The Tasting Kitchen; he is now moving to The Parish to cook up bold, innovative British fare, which will debut July 27 at the restaurant’s grand opening.

In a recent press release, Lane explains that he plans to use whole-animal cooking, letting no edible body part go to waste. Dishes on his imaginative menu include roasted bone marrow with a light celery salad, fried frog legs with bread-and-butter pickles and jalapeño slaw, and chicken wings with a craft stout glaze. According to Lane, "The Parish represents my version of modern English cuisine." Dinner will be served daily, and Lane hopes to also introduce a London-inspired breakfast and lunch menu in the next few months.

Chef Lane certainly knows how to create an inventive dish, but even at The Parish’s full service bar, no detail is overlooked. John Coltharp heads the elaborate bar menu, offering 14 unique Parish cocktails and 20 rotating taps of seasonal craft beers. Coltharp oversees the in-house ice-making system that pumps out cubes designed to pair with specific cocktails. If that’s not enough, The Parish also offers an extensive wine list, with international wines by the glass and bottles for purchase.

But don’t let the upscale drinks and exotic food pairings mislead you. The Parish maintains that it is a casual dining atmosphere where friends can gather for a dynamic meal or catch up at the bar over some flavor-packed cocktails. "The pub is traditionally a communal meeting ground," says Lane. "At the end of the day, I hope guests will come away from The Parish having had a very lively and fulfilling experience."

SNAIDERO USA RE-OPENS ITS NEW YORK FLAGSHIP SHOWROOM AFTER A STUNNING REDESIGN BY ITALIAN ARCHITECT, MARIO MAZZER

Los Angeles, CA, Oct. 21, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Snaidero USA has re-opened its New York Flagship showroom after completing an ambitious redesign that ushers in a new direction for the company.

After several decades of activity in North America that saw Snaidero USA become the #1 importer of European kitchens, company Founder and President, Dario Snaidero envisioned a new style of showroom. He wanted a concept that would represent the ultimate expression of Made-in-Italy design – and the “dolce vita” lifestyle that comes with it - through the company’s three high-end collections. This means not just the kitchens that Snaidero USA has come to be recognized for, but also its growing complementary offering of luxury baths, sideboards, closet systems, and interior doors.

The almost 5,000 sq. ft. million-dollar redesign of the A&D Building-based showroom was put in the hands of award-winning Italian architect, Mario Mazzer, who approached it as if “writing a story” where “objects express the deep and intimate meaning of our being and way of living.” The result is a space that makes visitors feel like they are walking through a sophisticated ambience.

Every detail contributes to the emotional energy of the environment. The chosen materials are a feast of textures that arouse the senses, reflecting modern trends and creating a unifying thread from one display to the next: from the Venetian Terrazzo, brass, and satin aluminum used for floors, walls, archways, and fixtures to product finishes that include prestigious woods, ceramic, marbles, glass, and innovative lacquers.

The Mario Mazzer Architects team handpicked the accessories for each display, opting for an eclectic mix of décor items that are minimalist but have personality and bold colors that create elegant contrasts with the rest of the space.

All but one of the ten products displayed at the showroom are new to the American market, reflecting Snaidero USA’s expanding offering for luxury homes:
